Well….by the time they get to your enter, I’ll be surprised if they click it…..that image you’ve got is huge and makes the site hang…

Then, you’ve got it loading on every page….why?

Your width is set at 800…try setting it at 750…..

When I click on the 2257..I get a download box…what made you set it up like that?

Your table for your recips is huge and spaced too wide…and all of your recips are off….and they have borders….set it for border=zero or something..and center all of them….and tighten up that table..doesn’t need to be that huge..

Am I correct in seeing 16 pages worth of free stuff?

As always, Raven, good advice, and I thank you for it ;>

I bought the template, and was itchin to use it. A coupla more tweaks, perhaps.

Fatboywins was supposed to have been the paysite I was originally going to do, and hope to do in the future. Currently, I’ve been using it as a hub. As I slowly begin to understand how things work, I can see that a lot of work will be needed on that, so I’ve started on free sites as practice.

I’m going to follow the herd on the 2257 links( I will imitate what I see on several other sites); I don’t understand it, but I have been wasting too much time on it . I know it’s necessary, and will leave it at that for now.

I haven’t submitted the site anywhere but the SE’s. I wanted to have the obviuos blunders ironed out first.

Off to the ironing board!

At present, I will be trying to get conversion to the sponsor sites, and to make sales thru the toy shop.

I will be submitting the sample galleries to a few TGP’s, and maybe buying some traffic.

Any suggestions on how the site will accomplish these (medium range) goals will be appeciated. I have about 20 more sets of pics to draw from.

If I can develop an income stream, I’ll start producing my own content.

Of course, that was the original intent, but life happens ;>

Im not quite sure where to start….

Why do you have your 2257 info there? Why do you want surfers to see it? Its not for them.

Umm…Green backround, black text? Hard to read.

Entrance above warning? odd. Warn them, then let them in.

You should really take a look at some other sites….See what they do.

As far as the 2257 goes, isn’t there an upcoming law that will require that information to be posted on every page? I had seen a mention of it on the Discussion borad, and wanted to make sure it would be right in advance.

Your’re right on the color scheme on the gateway page. I am trying to push the traffic to the galleries, and haven’t gotten around to fixing it. Ugly, ain’t it

Having the entrance above the warning would suit me as a surfer. If I have to click thru too many pages before getting to the meat, I usually break off the site to something else.
I know that the reason that things are done across the industry is because they work, but I just wanted to make sure I was legally covered on the gallery pages.

When/If I get ny own content, and go to a paysite, I may change the entry pages to reflect the standard.

Any thoughts on the gallery pages?
I.e. too many ads, too few pics, do they seem to fit the theme of the site?

I am planning on changing the color scheme to match the black background across the board.

Just cause it suits you doesnt mean it suits the law.

Read some more about 2257…Im pretty sure you dont have to have a warning on every page. Possibly a link to 2257 info, but not blantely on every page.

Your gallery pages arent right, I would not accept them.
You need to take a look around and see how others are doing it. Recips generally at the top, 3 of them.

That drop down box will get you declined in a second.

Image sizes are too small on some, and way to big on others. Read some rules on some of the bigger tgps to find the standard size.

All your templates are the same, you have to vary them, or run the risk of not getting listed.

Most bigger places want no more than 2 links to a paysite, or affiliate. you got at least one gallery with 4 banners.

In the legal industry classroom, the check list has the following:

For now I’ll leave it up, as the BW usage is tiny.

As far as the location of the entry in relation to the terms/disclaimer notification, I am not seeing a legal obligation to go through a terms/conditions page; just that the info is required on the front page.

Yeeah tho I walk thru the valley of the legalese, I know that is a possibility that I am wrong there. Why is it that lawyers have so much difficulty in laying out simple guidelines? It can’t have anything to do with more fees to be gleaned!

I had this very long post written out…..and then I made the mistake of clicking one of your links which you have in your drop down menu.

If I had not been so quick with alt+F4, I probably would have crashed.

Did you check your sites before you listed them?

The hentai sex one had more pops than the Vatican has priests…..not everyone has service pack 2 on their computers…and, not everyone wants to see downloads…most sponsor programs offer console free for a little less payout. Explore that….

Your site index page reads like a legal document, which is not very enticing, unless you’re target audience happens to be lawyers looking for sexual gratification.

That drop down menu you have at the upper left, which is almost useless because of where it is…..and, surfers are going to pass it by…..unfortunately, I did click one of your sponsors…and now I wish I hadn’t.

My apologies if you think this is harsh…but I do you no favours being soft and kind…as we are all in this industry to make money…..which means you have to start thinking like a sales person and a marketer…telling people you don’t have original content…why? (That was rhetorical, by the way).

You’ve been given some excellent advice…..go surf and study…..it’s all about the sale…

Hi Folks,

Thought I’d introduce myself, and summarize the steps I’m taking as I go. Hopefully, I’ll help someone when I do it right, and somebody else will clue me when I’m wrong

My name is Steve, AKA President of Fat Boy Wins, Incorporated, AKA fatboy1@fatboywins.com. My site will be a paysite, spec’n in brunettes (which I’ve always defined as black-haired lasses), Latinas, Asians, lingerie, fantasy hardcore, and good ol’ fun BDSM.

Fat Boy Wins is based on a short fat guy (me of course :> ) doing some good shoots. I look at a lot of porn, and I don’t visualize myself in the pictures as much as I’d like too; this way I’ll be not only the president, but a customer too I’ll also be purchasing plenty of content for the site. I want max satisfaction from my customers; what I’ve always wanted from sites I’ve subscribed to.

So far I have secured my domain name, and incorporated. I’ve got a partner/investor who is another Fat Guy, but his wife won’t let him do shoots, poor bastard.

So step 1 is basically the incorporation. If I had to do it again, I would incorporate before doing anything else; it will make tracking expenses a little easier later. The next steps will be to set up the business side(banking, tax ID’s,etc.), and to locate hosting. The site probably won’t be up for another 4-6 weeks.

So thnaks for providing this forum, and thanks for all the good advice I have gotten here so far - trust me, I’ll be asking for more!

I only have around 2 grand budgeted initially for content. depending on the actresses I find, my guess is 2 or three sets (2 or 3 hrs of video, and 150-300 pics). that is dividing the intial budget between my original content, and the best (according to my lights) of what I can pick out on the net.

Sites with custom content start out small….why buy content when it may be more cost effective for you to shoot it.

Charge a little bit, hon….and, as the site builds, your insides build, too…and the content is totally exclusive….step by step.

If a consumer knows you’re going to be adding a few sets every week….then you can make that two grand last a little longer…but, if you fill the site with filler, why would that make them stay when they can find that content anywhere…

It’s not just content which makes a member stay. Personalise the site with stuff for them…..free downloads and upsells for pay per view..you’d be surprised at how popular they are..especially the ones that don’t pop all over the place….

Put in a toy store which fits your site..give them news…chat, message boards…..as you fill out…give them stories that maybe you write….or a diary…or polls…..and other things….create a persona and talk to them every week…it’s not just about the content in a site..it’s about creating a zone for them to trust and want to stay, because you’re always adding something for them and you’re including them….the content builds….and it’s custom….as the site gets bigger, you can charge more.

We have a site filled with custom content right now…but until we get more, we are not rebilling…we are charging them a monthly fee…..we won’t start the rebills until the site is filled…see?

I like the idea of doing all my own work, heh heh.

My idea for the toy shop (and lingerie, and maybe body jewelry, perfume,etc, etc) would to have mini-shoots where the models were wearing the lingerie or cosplay item, using the toys… I am sure you get the idea :>

URL redirects??

I was running an Alexa report, and got the following error:

ERROR: The URL ‘http://www.sexslavestgp.com’ redirects to ‘http://www.******/’. This may cause the site crawler to miss much of your site’s content. Please use ‘http://******/’ as the URL instead.

I’ve gone directly to my address, and had a problem once going to a weird site; other then that, I’ve actually gone to my site (I’ve only seen the redirect once, in other words).

I’ve checked my metatags, and seen no redirects, gone to my registar and verified that the domain hasn’t been forwarded, and tried looking on Google for a similar issue.

I had let the site slide for a coupla months, so I’ve got no idea how long this may have been an issue. I’ve also ran a whois on the the target site, but I’m not complaining until I know there is actually a problem.

Anybody familiar with this kind of situation? What other things do I need to be looking at?

I dont see anything on your page for a redirect. Only thing maybe sextracker counter, I know there is a lot of talk about them, but dont “think” they could do something like that?

Seems only thing left would be your host has or had something messed up. Of course if it was your pc redirecting, would probably be spyware. But with alexa saying it, does seem weird.

Was the url it redirected to yours?

I’d say you have something funky going on because I tried to go to your site and got a page with this error.

Error:
Could not open directory “toplist”
Make shure it exist and it is writable

Edit: I went back and reloaded and the page loaded fine. I don’t see anything in the page source that would cause the problem, but I’m suspecting something odd is going on with your host.

upallnite pointed me at the problem. whe I ran the whois on the site the traffic is being sent to, the admin shows up as icefire.org, which is part of the overkill empire. I didn’t pick up on that at first.

I knew there was a 1% skim, but thought the skim came off traded traffic. if thats coming off incoming traffic, i’m going to need a new script, esp. the first hit from a visitor never sees my site.

I had worked up again to about 1300 daily. Went on vacation last week, and went back down to 600 daily. Thot I would have a net connection, but it wasn’t solid.

OTOH, it was a good trip.

Went down to Padre last Thursday, moochin off my folks. Got down there and just lied on the beach. I already burned this summer, so I didn’t burn. Thursday nite ate ceviche at Wanna Wanna ( this place has a great patio over the beach and goddamn good fried shrimp, but the ceviche… read on). The ceviche tasted good but not chopped up good enuff and too juicy. Went over to my sis and brother-in-laws condo to watch the game. Drank waaaaay too much.

Friday I am sick. Nasty burned out sick. Not a hangover ( but some of it was) and not a burn (some of it was) but the damn ceviche. Everybody that ate it spent the day running to the crapper. I just spent the day in the room. Friday nite I was feelin better, and we went to Amberjacks and watched the fireworks. Wendy took some good pics. I flirted with the girl serving roast beef, but with the stomach “grumbles”, not too hard. Didn’t eat or drink that much either. Food there was OK, but should have been better for the price: even taking into account this was SPI. Taught my niece how to fuck somebody’s thumb up if she got grabbed. Worked on my site a bit, but the internet connection was intermittant (besides, I was hijackin somebody else’s bandwith on my wireless).

Saturday I spent the whole f’n day at the beach. Swam, drank beer, swam, drank beer, repeated. Very cool. Saturday nite we ate Wanna Wanna again, and I stuck to fried and boiled shrimp. Tasty. A coupla cute chicks blew me off, but an amazing woman ( would have been a 10 if her tits had been real, even real and small) gave the come hither look as she walked by. Family vacation, tho. I stayed put. Nice band played calypso/rock mixed. I leand back in the plastic chair, and it tipped over. I could’nt save my beer, and smelled like a brewery the rest of the nite.

Sunday got to the beach early, and stayed most of the day. Went to a grocery store called the Blue Marlin and got steaks for dinner. Good produce. The avacodos and steak were great quality. Went back to the beach and drank red beers (tomater juice and beer) until dinner. Dad grilled em perfect, and we chunked an onion on the grill. Everybody went to a sports bar to watch the game, but I stayed at the condo and helped Mom and Dad watch the kids. Old people wear out early, by which I mean ME! Dallas fucked up, and the game sucked.

Monday went to the beach, and my sister tied to teach me boogie boarding. The waves were choppy. I didn’t get the hang of it, but tried for a long time. So it was boogie board, drink red beer, boogie board, drink red beer, repeat. Walt and Wendy (my brother and his GF) were gonna leave the next day, so they elected to eat at Wanna Wanna again. The place was practically empty, and I shrimped out. Didn’t drink much beer tho.

I slept late as I could on Tuesday. The waves were really up, and I got the hang of the boogie board. Now I understand why people surf. Just boogie boarding is cool. In the process of lernin, I was buried at least 10 times. I fucked up my shoulder on the bottom once, but came up laffing. Even getting smeared by the waves was fun. Ate leftovers from Saturday for dinner, with an infusion of a Wanna Wanna shrimp run ( the place was two blocks down).

I slept really realy late Wed. I was wearing down. Went to the beach, and my muscles pussied out, so I just stayed in the surf w/o swimming or boogyin. Drank a coupla red beers, but went slow.I had planned to go shark hunting and parasailing while down at Padre, but never got around to it. My sister planned a dolphin watch, so I went with them. First we ate at a place called the Sea Ranch. Damn good food, and the hostesses were downright beautiful. Then we took the dolphin watch boat. I can’t describe that w/o falling into some cliche, but it was definetely something that you should do at least once in your life ( I plan on doing it again one day). We did the sunset trip, and I won’t describe the utter beauty of the dolphins and sunset. Finally, the captain sped the boat down the channel out to the open sea, and we were crashin the waves. I stayed on the topside, and pretended I was an old salt riding out a storm ( even old farts like me yearn for adventure again). Saw a coupla dolphins riding the channel waves into the bay, and they were hauling ass! Turned the boat around, and came in, and that was a cool (tho sedate) ride.

Sometime during the week, my folks went to Mexico. I been in Mexico more then enuff ;> and opted out.

Thursday was the neverending carride back to Austin.

I gotta get rich so I can treat my family next time.
