I haven’t done much over the last 2 days except organizing:

Links
Bookmarks
Sponsors
SW I’ve downloaded (I must have had 10-15 litle gizmos waiting to be played with)
Company paperwork
Submissions
Galleries I can’t use anymore
etc
etc

And there’s still about 2 days left of work to do - NOT including what should be the daily work of porn.

Thus leading up to the point of this post.

ORGANIZE before you jump into the game. I was in such a hurry to get moving that I didn’t bother to set up a framework to work in. I would just open a spreadsheet whenever an immediate need for organization came up. Now I have 20 spreadsheets in two different apps that I need to work on coagulating (can’t remember the right word).

MS Exel is a good one. Quatro locks up too much, and I’ve lost data twice (luckily it was gaming crap!)

MS Access is GREAT. If you know how to set up a database, nothing beats Access for a desktop DB. It suffers a bit on a network, but for a small biz, single user type, it’s perfect. Even if you don’t know how to program DB’s, the wizards do most of the work for you. (I’m an MCP in SQL Server Admin, and 60% of what I know came from playing around with Access DB wizards).

Mozilla has a shitload of apps - err, extensions that simplify Internet organization.

If you organize what you’re going to do, it makes keeping track of things much easier. I.e, I signed up for way too many sponsors, b/c I needed hosted galleries. There are some of them I still haven’t used due to the fact that my tracking system (AKA improvise, adapt, overcome) wasn’t ready for the amount of data I was collecting.

When you’re simply filling in a format with data, it’s a lot easier then sitting there with something on the clipboard, and trying to figger out the best place to paste it.

Organize now, or jump through your ass later.
